Telehealth Products
Telecare also includes telehealth, designed for the management of clients’ long-term conditions and to complement on-going healthcare regimes. Data such as blood pressure is transmitted confidentially to a response centre or clinician, and any vital signs outside of set parameters will trigger a response.
For people with medical conditions that require regular care and monitoring, Telehealth means the difference between spending time in hospital and living independently and comfortably at home. Community Care telehealth systems will ensure that they still receive the protection and reassurance they need – even clinical consultations via an automated question and answer system, videophone or direct speech, and as a medication reminder.
For hospitals and other healthcare providers it means freed-up beds, fewer unscheduled visits to A&E units, G.P’s surgeries or clinics and more efficient use of both hospital-based and home-visiting nursing staff.
Community Care telehealth systems can also be used by public service providers such as Social Services for everything from care in the community to occupational therapy, delivering savings in valuable time, resources and cost.
Care Companion Unit
The basic Care Companion is a self-contained home unit perfectly suited for a person or patient requiring assessment and reminders. It is designed for people – patient ease of use and features large text and touch-screen.
Care Companion Software
The web based software is used by the clinician to view patient information. When a clinician enters the software a list of patients being monitored by a health professional is displayed, these are sorted by alarm/warning status.
Care Companion With Medical Devices
Medical peripherals are added to the basic Care Companion to meet the patient’s specific health needs. The Care Companion collects the data then sends it to the Care Companion Server. If the server receives data that exceeds pre-set parameters, the assigned caregivers are notified. Caregivers can access their patients’ medical data via a secure Web browser. The data can be reported and graphed to meet the caregiver’s needs.
Care Companion with Video Phones
Add any video speakerphone to the CareCompanion and the patient can receive more personal interaction with, and immediate assistance from, a caregiver. This visual reassurance link is vital for family members, support groups and professional carers. The videophone can operate over POTS, IP or ISDN.
Doc@Home Health Hub
The Doc@Home remote health management service for home-based patients suffering from chronic heart Failure (CHF), employs telecare technology to acquire on a daily basis, key physiological, lifestyle and medication compliance parameters.
